Complete Cavalry Spur
Description
Complete Cavalry Spur found behind the allied ridge line between 1980-2005 by a Belgian collector and metal detectorist.
Only complete one he has ever found in 25 years of searching the battlefield.
In overall good partially cleaned condition.
Extremely rare and evocative piece and incredibly still in one piece after nearly two hundred years in the ground.
Found to the west of Lion Mound behind the ridge line in an area where the British cavalry concentrated. Later in the afternoon of 18th June 1815 this area was the scene of the massed french cavalry attacks on the allied infantry squares.
One of a kind.
