Description

Large Shell fragment found just south of La Haie Sainte between 1980-2005 by a Belgian collector and metal detectorist. This item comes from a French or British 5.5 or 6in Howitzer shell and a section of the fuse pocket can still be seen. Approx 4in x 4in and treated against corrosion. Very rare and beautiful piece. It has been cleaned and treated against further corrosion which has given the metal a black colouring.

Description

Very Large and heavy Iron Canister round. Found north east of Hougoumont old orchard. This one is of the largest size found on the battlefield and only very rarely come across. Measuring nearly 2inches in diameter and extremely heavy. Only found to my knowledge in two areas of the field.Very rare and beautiful piece. It has been cleaned and treated against further corrosion which has given the metal a black colouring.
